Caring For Our Community
This past September, Arthritis & Sports opened its second office in Northern Virginia, featuring Dr. David Goodwin in its orthopaedics department. Committed to caring for athletes in the area, Dr. Goodwin quickly formed a relationship with the Old Dominion Football Club, a local soccer club that hosts over 200 recreational players throughout Loudoun County. ODFC prides itself on its “Education First” initiative, and reached out to Dr. Goodwin to provide lectures to their players and parents on injury prevention and injury treatment. This initiative allows its players to take part in educational programs and courses in order to put the focus back on what a youth club should be – the education and development of players and coaches.
Arthritis & Sports’ providers, including Dr. Goodwin, could not agree more with ODFC’s educational initiative, and so began a partnership between Arthritis & Sports and ODFC. Dr. Goodwin can now be seen providing medical assistance to ODFC’s Women’s Premier Soccer League team, Old Dominion Cesena USA, from the sidelines during their home games. He will also be contributing to ODFC’s health and wellness content alongside StoneSpring’s Medical Director, Christopher Crowell, as well as continuing to provide educational presentations for the club’s athletes and parents.
