Joint Reconstruction Fellowships
The fellowship program consists of a one-year joint replacement rotation under Dr. Randall Peyton. The fellow participates in both inpatient and outpatient care, gaining experience in the management of complex primary and revision joint replacements. Additionally, fellows may elect to gain experience in advanced shoulder reconstruction under Dr. Matthew Griffith, one of the area's preeminent orthopaedic surgeons. Learn more about our program here.
Physician Assistant & Nurse Practitioner Rotations
Our mission is to provide the highest quality patient care in an academic environment that fosters an outstanding educational experience for physician assistants and nurse practitioners. We provide exposure to many specialties within the field of orthopaedics. Our primary goal is to allow the student the opportunity to obtain a diverse, hands-on clinical and operative orthopaedic experience and to leave the rotation with a solid fundamental orthopaedic knowledge and physical exam. We are currently accepting PA students from Shenandoah University, Lynchburg University, Mary Baldwin University, James Madison University, and D'Youville College. We also accept NP students from Georgetown University, George Washingon University, and George Mason University. We are always open to adding additional schools and programs.
Radiology Technologist Rotations
Students currently enrolled in a certified radiology program participate in clinic rotations. During this time, they obtain hands-on training and gain experience in orthopedic radiology. Clinical competencies, set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, are completed which allow graduates to sit for the ARRT registry exam and obtain licensure.
Orthopaedics & Physical Therapy Internships
For those college students and college graduates interested in pursuing a career in medicine, our summer internship programs are a great option. Our orthopaedics program typically lasts 2 weeks at a time, with surgical observation available to select individuals who demonstrate the highest professionalism and commitment to the field.
